Barry Mainprice Parson was born in Headley, Surrey in 1882 (Reigate Q3-1882 2A:167), son of Arthur and Sarah Amelia PARSON {s} (née BARTON)

1891 census...Aged 8 he was at Hurst Farm, Walton on the Hill, Surrey with his father Arthur PARSONS [41] farm bailiff, born Assington, Suffolk; his mother Sarah A [48] born Rattlesden, Suffolk; sisters Ellen S [20] born Boxford, Amy L [10] born Shere, Surrey and Florence S [7] born Headley, Surrey; brothers Oscar [17] bailiff's assistant, born Boxford, Ernest S [12] born Watford and Sidney B [2] born Headley; cousin Annette M PARSONS [15] Lakenheath, Suffolk

1901 census...Aged 20, he was at Overton Road, Bangor, a servant with the PARKER family. His parents were at Home Farm, Culford with his sister Florence and brother Sydney.

1911 census...Aged 30 he was a servant at West Hall, Middleton Tyas His father was a commercial traveller (agriculture) living with sister Florence at 66 Little Haven Lane, Roffey, Horsham. His mother was visiting the SMITH family at Wether Hill, Icklingham

His mother died in Cosford, Suffolk in 1919


He enlisted in Barton, while resident in West Hill, Middleton Tyas, Yorkshire( both near Scotch Corner on A1). He died in Bermondsey Military Hospital which was previously Bermondsey Institution, on Ladywell Road in Lewisham. His mother was at "The Griffin Hotel", Ingham around the time of his death which may account for his burial there.
